"Help! Nothing Works!"

Sometimes, something goes horribly wrong in some obscure corner of some unseen machine in some unknown place. But it affects you, nonetheless...

Check the "infrastructure" section of the menu.

Please note that sometimes, no one can do anything. Although this is not very comforting, it means that some kind of hopefully not too major a catastrophe has happened and the problem is not specifically yours.

Catastrophes are usually noted right away and troubleshooting should already be under way, possibly even before you noticed anything. This does not mean that a potential catastrophe is or indeed can be avoided: we've had floods, power outages, multiple disk failures... the list goes on.

Please, backup now and then.

Nevertheless, you can ask for help by sending an email to admin@inesc-id.pt.
If you do this, please be specific when describing the issue, so that the IT people can be of assistance.
